Photograph of a seaside painter, “De strandschilder” De Backer César. Fr. in pencil on the verso. Stamped V.T.B. Fotokring Wetteren. I was told the painter was famous, but my research returned nothing, just an article about a demented man with the same name who killed his wife at age 88. I’m sure this César, who is French, was just a simple man who wanted to paint the sea.
Print starting to come loose from the cardboard due to old glue, else fine.
