Bound in stiff carton boards with a pictorial dust jacket, 25 x 22 cm, 24 pages, illustrated throughout in color and black and white, English.

Lookbook for the autumn Winter 1998-99 collection by Dirk Van Saene. The lookbook was created by taking a black doll to the Austrian alps where Dirk Van Saene shot the looks with the kind assistance of partner  Walter Van Beirendonck. Some detailed shots also have drawings by Van Saene.

“fake” tailoring:
all elements of traditional tailoring, as there are .collars, pockets, closures, pleats, bows, belts,
ties.. .rethought in a 2-dimensional way and totally integrated in the cutting of the garments,
resulting in a pure, but elaborated silhouette. Moulded rubber men shoes with all details integrated
complete the look.

“repositioned” garments:
clothes with a distinctive function and attitude are repositioned on the body; draped, recut
and shaped into a new function.

“split” garments:
clothes are split in two, zips are added, parts of different styles are united, new shapes are
created.
