Description
Antwerpen, Walter Soethoudt, 1972
Black cloth with black and white photo-illustrated dust jacket, 33 x 24 cm, unpaginated (64 pages), black and white photographs. Text in Dutch.
One of our favourite books and also one of the only photography books published by Walter Soethoudt, the man from Antwerp, with this book one of the few that can cross international borders, as most of his other publications are in Dutch. A series of very 70s black and white photographs by photographer Roger Dyckmans, whose photography Soethoudt also used for some of his book covers. With 25 poems by Clem Schouwenaars, written for the book and at that point his tenth collection of poetry. For Roger Dyckmans it was his first book. The models Gerda Kleyn and Bettina-Sew Atjon posed around Cap Gris Nez and this dreamy book is the result.

A good copy with a fair dust jacket. Corners and ends rubbed, some damage from old stickers, bumps and scratches. For those who know the book, you know you’ll often find it without the dust jacket or with wear and tear.
