Description
Utrecht, Rijksuniversiteit Utrecht/commissie vormingswerk, maart 1972
Ring binder with title label pasted to the spine, 23 x 22 cm, black and white illustrations and contributions, all leaves perforated, with some extra contributions. Text in Dutch/English. Printed in an edition of 2000 copies
One of the great catalogues, designed by Anthon Beeke for the five day Studium generale on Chance at Rijksuniversiteit Utrecht in 1972. A full program, with amongst other activities a one day sculpture by Barry Le Va, a film program, a fluxus concert by Ben Vautier, a public action by David Madella and various workshops.
This copy is complete. A few contributions could be added per the instructions printed in the catalogue: two tipped-in cards and a dictionary leaf by Ben Vautier, the pamphlet Chance Imagery by George Brecht, three screenprints by Gerhard von Graevenitz on a fold-out sheet, instructions for a multiple (signed by François Morellet), proposal for a neon work by François Morelletand and two red dice in a plastic bag.
The leaf with the instructions for the contributions seems to be missing, and the Ben Vautier cards and dictionary page have already been glued to the pages.
Condition: some foxing throughout, especially to the binder, else good. One corner of the binder bumped. All contributions in good condition.
