This rare English translation of a futuristic children’s story takes inspiration from Alice in wonderland, and was preceded by an Italian edition (the original) in 1967.  While the original has far fewer library holdings, both are equally rare in the trade.
Alice in 2000
A story by Renzo Rossotti, with colour illustrations by Grazia Nidasio.
‘This is a story about Alice, that same young heroine of two of the most famous books ever written – Alice in Wonderland and Alice Through the Looking-Glass. It is yet another variation on the ‘wonderland theme, for here Alice is imagined adventuring in space in the year A.D. 2000. So she is shown to have moved with the times and to be thoroughly ‘with it’ ! The author offers his apologies to the Victorian professor of mathematics who created an immortal story for children; nevertheless, Alice in 2000 is a story of its own right which should delight every young reader and may not be without its appeal to their elders. The illustrations by Grazia Nidasio are particularly ingenious and attractive. ‘
Boards with some bumps and discoloration to the edges, else clean and firm. End papers and edges with some foxing, some minor foxing spots on the first pages but else bright and clean. Dust jacket price clipped and showing discoloration. Some tiny losses towards the ends of the spine and a 1 cm tear. A few scratches and some rubbing but still a good jacket.
